Making New Anthrodam welcoming for everyone
We want every attendee to be able to join in at New Anthrodam. This page covers getting to the hotel, getting around the con and where to find help.
Questions before the con? Email accessibility@newanthrodam.com. At the con, ask any staff member and we’ll get you connected.

Getting Here
These subway stations near the hotel have elevators:
- ACFR Jay St–MetroTech, the closest. Its elevator is on the northwest corner of Jay St and Willoughby St.
- 2345 Borough Hall. Elevators are in front of the Supreme Court building on Court St and in front of Borough Hall on Joralemon St.
- BQR DeKalb Av. Its elevator is on the southeast corner of DeKalb Ave and Flatbush Ave.
High St, York St, Clark St and Court St have no elevators, and the passage from Borough Hall to Court St isn’t step-free.
Elevators can be out of service, so check the MTA’s elevator status before you travel.
Driving? The hotel’s on-site garage has accessible and van-accessible spaces. It’s run by SP+, not the hotel, and costs $60 a day.
At the Hotel
- The main entrance is accessible, and every meeting space, including all of our convention space, is on an accessible route.
- The hotel has mobility-accessible rooms, with a tub or a roll-in shower, and hearing-accessible rooms, with visual alarms and notification devices. They’re limited, so contact the hotel about one when you book.
- In mobility-accessible rooms you can ask for the bed to be lowered.
- Some guest rooms are in the South Tower, which connects to the hotel lobby and convention space by the step-free sky bridge and has its own elevators.
For details about a specific need, call the hotel at +1 718-246-7000.
Getting Around the Con
- All of our convention space is step-free, including the sky bridge to the South Tower for Twisted Tails and the Photo Room.
- Elevators are marked on the venue map, including the ones in the hotel lobby next to the front desk, by the way into convention space.
- Mobility aids, canes included, aren’t treated as props or weapons. Staff will always ask before helping or touching your equipment.
Registration and Badges
Registration is on the Promenade, just inside the convention space. Bring your government-issued photo ID.
If you need a modified registration process, ask a staff member as you enter the convention space, and they’ll take you to Con Ops for help.
Only you can pick up your badge, so we can’t hand it to anyone else.
Access Stickers
An Access Sticker on your badge lets staff see at a glance that you may need an accommodation. With one, you can:
- skip the line at con events and panels
- go into large events a few minutes early, with the front rows reserved for you
- bring one support person along, who needs their own badge
- have priority for elevators
Ask for one in Con Ops. We don’t ask for proof of a disability, and the sticker is optional: you can ask any staff member for an accommodation without one.
Taking a Break
- The Quiet Room is for anyone stepping away from the crowds. Talk softly or not at all, and please don’t sleep there.
- The Headless Lounge is where fursuiters can take their heads off and cool down.
Service Animals
Service animals are welcome throughout the hotel and convention space, with no fee or paperwork. Please keep them under your control at all times.
Pets, including emotional support animals, aren’t service animals and aren’t allowed in convention space. The hotel allows one pet per room, up to 25 lb, and charges a $150 fee per stay.
First Aid and Help
Con Ops in Salon I handles first aid, safety and accessibility. Its hours are on the venue map. Anywhere else, any staff member can help.
In an emergency, call 911.
